LODESTONE STATION
Located in a park north of downtown Incendia, Lodestone Station itself is smaller than Keystone, though similar in overall design. There is only a single small floor set above the ground, which is home to the station's transmission equipment and an elevator leading to the safer areas further below.
The park, meanwhile, is more natural than the larger Ritual Park; it would take a skilled eye to see how the native plants are landscaped, though it can also be deduced from simple logic. Aside from the station, a restroom building, and a small plaza and playground with picnic tables, the park is shady and cool and greatly resembles the forest across the lake, only about half of its trails paved. It's only about two city blocks of greenspace, less than a quarter of which is taken up by the station.
Inside are two floors; the upper is much a smaller Keystone, with two labs, a meeting room, and ten small apartments the likes of which characters are already familiar with. One lab is occupied by Fissure-related equipment, paper data, and the like similar to the one in Keystone, while the other is home to the personal projects of its three androids. It's clear that this station never held as many people as Keystone... And for good reason, because who would want to live with this Fissure right outside the door?
(Following the expedition, the common area between the ten apartments also contains a glyph similar to those in the teleport port elsewhere in the city, connecting it to the common room of Keystone's residential floor.)
The floor below is likely more interesting. Here, large machines fill an open hall from floor to 12 foot ceiling. In spite of the dust, they hum with magic, ready to go at a moment's notice. Those who pay close attention will notice that this room contains not only magic, but a series of cables crisscrossing the floor with the familiar HIGH VOLTAGE warning signs of electricity.
This floor, the Magitech Development Hall, is the birthplace of the androids you all know and at minimum tolerate. If nothing else, having the proper equipment will be a boon to the production of stabilizers and the like, and there's lots of raw materials stacked up against the walls (as well as more within the rest of the city, though you may find yourself running a bit short of computer chips and circuitboards if you decide to go that route.). If you'd like to do a bit of experimenting yourself with the fusion of magic and technology, this is the place.
