Character name: Meliantha Character canon: Forgotten Realms Canon point: FR 1385 after time in Exsilium (which is now closed; she departed after an incident that involved rescuing prisoners from a jail) Physical Description: Meliantha is 5 foot seven inches, and wears medieval garb. Her skin is a charcoal-grey, her hair is a thick black mass, and her eyes are amethyst-purple with no pupil or white (if you get close enough, you can see gradiations in color where they would be, though). A very large sword is hung over her shoulder, almost as tall as she is.
About the Character: Born an orphan (her father unknown, her mother dead in childbirth), she was taken in by a temple of the god of protectors, where she was raised (and at times abused by one of the priests, who saw her demonic features and decided she was a ‘threat’). She was tutored in fighting in the temple, and by some locals who had taken an interest in her at the urging of a group that meddled in and tried to stop the worst excesses of society.
When she came of age, she took up the life of a traveling adventurer, wandering cross the land, battling bandits and helping people, training and learning, gaining skill and strength. And then one day… she disappeared. She found herself in a strange realm called Exsilium, where the people there fought to change what had happened in the past to build a better future. That was something she could believe in, and she took up her blade and her skills for it. She helped them succeed in some missions, and fought for vengeance when their enemies showed their strength and destroyed a world. She learned new skills in battle, including how to use firearms (something rare and very dangerous in Faerun), and then, suddenly, was sent back. Her memory of that place was suppressed, but not lost, and she kept having flashes of ideas and memory she couldn't fit anywhere else. She ignored them as best she could, and continued to work towards a better Faerun, swearing allegiance to Cormyr, stopping two threats at once (the release of a being of horrific power, and a spy ring that threatened to steal secrets of Cormyrian defenses), but in the wake of it, her heart broken, traveled to the East, where she learned some new combat skills. She returned to an invasion of her adopted land, where she was surprised to be given command rank, but chose to accept the challenge.
Character abilities: Medieval commando, grandmaster swordswoman with a sword of a similar design to the Scottish claymore. She's a tactician and scout, and she's taught martial combat, small unit tactics and insurrection techniques. So mostly a fighter, but she's able to teach as well. Will not be expert with most modern technology... but she's smart and will figure some of the basics out, and isn't too proud to ask. (Don't expect her to ever be comfortable with guns or most 'modern' technology. Except showers. She will adore those.) Meliantha would, in the modern day, be a commando. She's an exceptionally competent warrior, she has stealth skills, she's trained in small unit command and tactics, and she has exceptional skills at noticing things. Her reflexes are trained to a razor's edge. Her demonic blood also makes her physique exceptional. She tends to wear loose clothes to hide it, but she is able to lift almost four times her bodyweight over her head and throw it. She's also very smart, but to a modern viewpoint undereducated: she can read and write, and possesses skills with mapreading and mapmaking, but her education is fairly focused. (She's also from a medieval timeframe, so many things of modern technology just... don't exist. To her, guns are weird items that one priesthood makes and used little packages that a bit of fire might cause to blow up the carrier as be useful against an enemy.. and not very useful at that (flintlock-level technology), and anything past what on Earth would be the mid-1500s the stories of the mad.)
However, with her memories from Exsilium released, she remembers more about technology and some things from more modern cultures, including things like firearms and communication devices.
Inventory:
instead of armor, she wears enchanted bracers that protect her from attacks, the weather, allows her to move through the heaviest underbrush and make her more sneaky
magical boots that let her move faster
an enchanted vest that lets her teleport a short distance (about 50m)
an enchanted belt that makes her stronger, more agile, and bolsters her stamina
a necklace that sustains her, increasing her stamina
a haversack that is larger inside than out (but not large enough to carry a human), and preserves indefinitely anything placed inside
a ring that can make her invisible for a few minutes at a time
a spool of silk rope that can produce about 150 feet at a time... and then when cut, can produce 150 more.
her greatsword, which is magically sharp, possesses the ability to flare in a number of elemental auras (fire, cold, electricity, acid and a painful sound), and protects her from having her mind controlled. (normally sentient, I am removing that from here to make it easier.)
The haversack contains:
5 lb walnuts
three blankets
5 small sacks
checkers board and set
12 loaves of blackbread (it's like pumpernickel)
8 loaves of sourdough bread
10 1lb wheels of Cheddar
2 2lb wheels of walnut cheese (a brie-like cheese with ground-up nuts mixed into the cheese)
2 1lb containers of yak butter (it's like cream cheese)
10 lbs of ham chunks
10 lbs. of corned beef flats
2 pints of apple butter
1 quart of pickles
1 small cask (about 2 gallons) of good-quality beer)
5 sets of clothing, 4 sets for travelling, one set suitable for lesser court attendances.
1 nightdress and soft slippers
an enchanted tent that looks like a small hill from the outside (unless you get close up, at which point it's obviously a concealed tent), but inside is about 20 by 30 feet, has three ten foot by ten foot private areas at the far end, and remains at a comfortable temperature despite what's outside. She's also had it modified so that there is a table and six chairs in the main area; one of the private areas has a self-heating, self-filling bathtub; and a second one of the private areas has a bed, nightstand and sword-stand - which is her personal room.
a small bead that, when cast to the ground, becomes a campfire for eight hours, and then turns back into the bead.
a Cleanstone (once per day will clean body, hair and clothing as if a bath was taken and laundry was done)
