Character name: Brain, aka Roidmude 003, alias "Sou Narumi"
Character canon: Kamen Rider Drive - OU
Canon point: Kamen Rider Drive Saga: Mach/Heart
Physical Description: Human form, Roidmude form, Super evolution form. He is 5'9'' in all forms.

About the Character: History at Kamen Rider Wiki.

Brain is one of the initial three Roidmudes created by Tenjuuro Banno and Krim Steinbelt. He was convinced to overthrow Banno by Roidmude 002, aka "Heart", and slew both of his creators. Banno's consciousness was preserved digitally by Brain, while Krim survived in a similar manner, to prepare to fight them. Fifteen years later, Brain, along with the other one hundred and eight Roidmudes, waged an attack on human civilization, their combined abilities creating an effect called the "Global Freeze", in which numerous people lost their lives.

The Roidmudes' attack, however, was countered by "Proto Drive", who had been created by Steinbelt to oppose them. Brain managed to warn his comrades and survived the battle by copying the form of a human named Mitsuharu Kineta and using his access as an intelligence director to escape to cyberspace. Unbeknown to Brain, he did more than just copy Kineta's form, but his emergent personality was also shaped by Kineta's own. Later, he reunited with his fellow Roidmudes, and forcibly reprogrammed the defeated and captured Proto Drive, himself a Roidmude known as "Proto Zero", transforming him into the Roidmudes' enforcer, "Mashin Chaser".

In the months that followed, Brain attained his evolved form, and served as Heart's number two in managing the other Roidmudes' activities and opposing the efforts of Kamen Rider Drive, Proto Drive's successor. In this time, Brain became more and more enamored with Heart, while growing jealous of those who also held his esteem, such as his comrade, Medic, who also excelled in areas Brain considered to be his territory. Eventually, Brain's jealousy drove him to leave Heart's side in a misguided attempt to prove his own worth and independence, allying with Roidmude 001, known as "Freeze" and disguised as Japan's Secretary of Defense, as well as a corrupt police officer named Mitsuhide Nira.

Working together with them, Brain masqueraded as an official named Sou Narumi and worked to frame Shinnosuke Tomari, Drive's true identity, as the the Roidmudes' ringleader. He gained a further, more powerful evolved form by drawing upon Narumi's feelings of jealousy towards Tomari, but ultimately exposed himself as a Roidmude accidentally at a press conference, thereby exonerating his enemy. Brain subsequently battled Drive, only to lose even with his "super evolved form", reducing him to his Core form and leaving him at the mercy of his rival, Medic.

Brain eventually regained his physical form, but became aware that his actions had caused him to lose Heart's trust. However, when Banno, who the Roidmudes had controlled up until now, returned in the form of a golden copy of Kamen Rider Drive known as "Gold Drive". Brain and his fellow Roidmudes were targeted, with the group losing Medic to Banno. Brain seemed to give himself up to Banno willingly, causing Heart to believe Brain had betrayed him again, but in reality, this was all a ploy to save his Medic from their creator. Brain's efforts ultimately cost him his life, but he died reconciling with Heart and his former rival, with them both reaching out to him in his final moments. Unfortunately, his efforts were in vain, as both Heart and Medic met their ends in the events that followed.

Brain was later temporarily revived when Heart himself was accidentally revived by Gou Shijima, an ally of Shinnosuke Tomari and the true identity of a second Kamen Rider named Kamen Rider Mach. However, Brain did not regain physical form, and had to share a body with Heart and Medic, a fact that both he and the latter seemed to rather enjoy. Ultimately, this Resurrection proved to be temporary, with him and his two friends' consciousnesses fading away after Heart's body burnt out in battle with another surviving Roidmude.

"As expected, I am splendid and honest and..."

Brain is the most intelligent and tactical-minded of the Roidmudes' leadership, and towards the beginning of the series, he was relatively calm, composed, and detached in his activities. However, as his personality developed, Brain became much more neurotic, excitable, and insecure, both due to his strong feelings of jealousy and the influence of Mitsuhara Kineta had on his emerging personality.

One of the strongest aspects of Brain's character is his ego, which causes him to be easily irritated by deficiencies he observes in others. However, he is as insecure as he is arrogant, and at times, it seems that the latter is a cover for the former. When he feels outshone or useless, Brain will compensate by especially over the top affirmations of his own abilities, with an almost instinctual extolling of his virtues (almost always in threes) in praising himself. When upset, he will habitually wring his handkerchief or bite down upon it in frustration, and when he is at a physical disadvantage, Brain is easily frightened and prone to shrieking in fear.

Brain's insecurity causes him to act cowardly and treacherous, and even those closest to him have proven not to be immune to this behavior when Brain feels he has something to prove. The humbling experience he suffered in losing to Drive even in his super evolved form and losing Heart's trust caused him to be more self aware of these faults, however, and more calm and regretful in his attempts to atone, so it can be argued that his worst tendencies have been tempered by his experiences... though, considering his moment of redemption still involved deceiving both his friends and Banno, dishonesty is still a tool Brain is willing to wield.

Ultimately, Brain's most redeeming quality is his great love and loyalty to Heart. After everything he's been through, his loyalty to Heart is now absolute, especially after seeing how going against him can damage their relationship. However, his insecurity also stems greatly from his attraction to Heart and his fear of being replaced or rejected by him, which in turn causes him to keep his feelings to himself. Brain is simultaneously eager to receive physical affection from Heart and reluctant to ask for it, and to this day he still believes that Medic is more likely to have Heart return her feelings than he is.

Brain can also be very cruel and manipulative, and his redemption hasn't changed this. He's still quite willing to use monstrous and criminal methods so long as it's in his and his friends' best interests, but at the same time, he's (now) much less likely to do something Heart wouldn't approve of. This is shown in his casual willingness to force Chase/Proto Zero into becoming an ally, murder humans, and how he once manipulated Gou Shijima into being the Roidmudes' ally.

Despite his tendency to be foolish when his insecurity is at its worst, Brain can also occasionally be witty and sarcastic, and when in a good mood he can even be warm and good humored; when dying a second time, he pleasantly joked that the next time he came back, he would be a Kamen Rider rather than lament his imminent demise. His relationship with Medic has also softened considerably, fading from outright hated to Brain now regarding her as a trusted, friendly rival. He's even willing to joke and cooperate with both her and his former enemies among Shinnosuke Tomari's allies. That being said, he has still not fully gotten over his own guilt and shame for betraying Heart, and is often troubled by it.

Character abilities: In terms of mundane abilities, Brain is exceptionally intelligent and contains a vast amount of data and knowledge. He is scientifically gifted, and skilled in manipulation, both of people and individuals and of information and technology. However, his effectiveness in these areas is hampered by his various personality flaws, as he tends to be foolish when motivated by jealousy, fear, or ego. When Brain manages to stay calm, he can be quite effective, but these moments are less typical for him later in life.

As a Roidmude, Brain is powered by technology known as a "Core Driviar". His form normally consists of an advanced robotic body, but when his physical form is destroyed, he is reduced to his "Core", which is a mass of data given physical form in the shape of numbers arranged in his personal designation ("003" in Brain's case). If his Core is destroyed, Brain's life will come to a final end, and be unable to be restored again. Brain is also able to transform his body back into data and travel through cyberspace in Core form, or use it to pass through solid objects, though the latter ability presumably takes concentration and isn't useful in a fight.

Like all other Roidmudes, Brain can induce slowdown, which is the ability to slow down the movement of objects and lifeforms within a localized area, with any living creatures caught in the effect fully aware of what's happening to them. This effect is technically known as "Heavy Acceleration", but is referred to a "slowdown" by most characters. He can also use advanced camouflage to take the appearance of other life forms, which are usually humans.

Brain is an "evolved" Roidmude, in that he was once a lower class, "Bat-type" Roidmude before evolving into his unique current form. Furthermore, Brain further evolved, taking on a new, golden form after growing stronger by absorbing Mitsuhide Nira's feelings of jealousy. Brain has a particular affinity for envy, and can grow stronger by tapping into it. Furthermore, his further evolutions are retained despite having lost his physical body at least once.

Brain's unique abilities include the power to access, control, and modify electronic technology wirelessly, and has shown the ability to access data remotely and modify a tablet into a GPS tracker. His super evolution further strengthened this ability, allowing him to manipulate large amounts of data and do such things as steal an entire supercomputer's database or forcibly remove his comrade Medic's programming after it had been incorporated into Gold Drive. He can also fire energy blasts and shoot fireballs from his hands. He can also extend tentacles from his arms to attack or forcibly access tech. His further evolution has also given him various ESP abilities, including psychic explosions, golden energy barriers, telekinesis, psychic waves, and generating and calling down lightning. Finally, he can create lifeless, expendable copies of himself and others to serve as decoys.

Brain's most distinct and memorable ability, however, is his neurotoxin, which can be delivered by his tentacles, which can cause debilitating pain or eventual death. If Brain so chooses, he can choose to make a "timer" appear to reflect how much time a victim has before his toxin kills them. Brain's toxin can also be used in the manner of an electronic virus, as shown when he used it to sabotage his fellow Roidmude, Chase's, firewalls. Presumably, this is how he also erases other Roidmudes' memories (something he is stated to do, but never shown actually doing onscreen), so in theory he could apply it to wiping electronic databases as well. Since evolving, the potency of his toxin has been increased, even eclipsing the ability of other technology to heal.

Another, less useful ability for Brain himself, is something he only possesses when inhabiting the same body as Heart, and only when he is transformed into Kamen Rider Heart. By using "Viral Blending", Brain is able to give Heart access to his tentacles and neurotoxin.

Inventory:
- His glasses, which are somehow distinct and not part of his camouflage.
- An iPad, which has been heavily modified by Brain.
- A pocket handkerchief.

Samples: Test drive.
