About the Character: Let's get the canon stuff out of the way: Canon history of the IDW universe, of the DJD, and Vos. The AU mostly follows the broad strokes of the world, only everyone is "humanised" with appropriate changes. OPT-OUT POST HERE. And a more in-depth detailing of the AU because that stuff is rather wordy and detailed and filled with a million links. But, while all that background is good, let's talk about Freya herself.

  • Freya was hatched -her Egg touched by her 'mother'- in a small town in the state of Vos in a time when the so-called First Languages (Primal Vernacular) were still spoken. She grew up speaking the Vosian version of it alongside limited Neo-Cybex - a vaguely global languagethat would become the present day Cybertronian language.

  • At a young age, she learned she was 'destined' to be a sniper for one of the local police units, all because of the HammerSpace Item the bracelets had given her: a sniper rifle. It was a good job, though not something she enjoyed because she was basically see/treated as 'a living accessory' due to how Functionism defined a person by the HammerSpace Item.
  • Freya would eventually be called to give a sample of her DNA, grudgingly giving the bare minimum required (saliva sample). SIDE NOTE: It was her 'mother' who contributed more than the daughter: ovum. Considered to be the greatest sample one could give, these were taken and frozen, stored deep in vaults under Iacon City. Unknown to her, Freya has at least one 'sibling',: an Autobot codenamed Riptide. They have never met. Riptide would likely try and murder his 'sister' if they met anyway.
  • It was while on a visit to Iacon, due to her job, she met the young woman who would eventually become Tarn; an Outlier (basically someone with supernatural powers that have nothing to do with thier HSI) by the name of Danielle (Glitch/Damus) who lived at the Jhiaxian Academy. Danielle was also a Point One Percenter; a very rare spark of incredible power. They became friends/penpals, with Freya teaching Danielle Vosian Primal Vernacular, and a relationship for about a millennia or two to see if they were Spouse Material that ended in BFFs for Life.
  • After Danielle's home/school was bombed and raided, she and Freya joined the Decepticons (people who opposed Functionism) early enough they were there at the start of Megatron's march across Cybertron. She would take with her call-sign 'Forestock', and preferring only to speak her native language as something of a Fuck You to everyone who still treated her like a freaking accessory.
  • For the most part she was on the same team as Danielle, though as the war went on the postings they ended up on together would even out to about half the time. Danielle is aware that Vos is 'religious'. In a very big nutshell, think something along the lines of Shintoism with vague talk of someone 'foretold to bring about change'. Given Tarn idolises Megatron...
  • During the 'exodus', Freya was part of the crew that shot down several escaping ships, including Prowl's (who's a big name in the war).
  • At some point in the early war, an injured Freya lent her rifle to Megatron during some pivotal moment worthy of future recollection, and we're going to say that it was sniping some nameless Autobot general
  • During the Thunderwing Shitstorm #1 (crazy person with basically a cult following shouts everyone's killing the planet and tries to stop the war), in which the Autobots and Decepticons called a Truce, Freya and Danielle were part of a team that took care of a number of his groupies. Unfortunately, Thunderwing got away. Millions of years later he'd return, this time rather batshit crazy insane and pretty much The Harbinger of the doom he saw befalling Cybertron.
  • This again saw a Truce. Freya was part of a sniper unit formed of both factions tasked with taking out as many of the Cult Leaders as they could.
  • Freya was posted at Grindcore prison when Danielle was, as part of security, though by no means unable to indulge herself with the sciences. Let's just say a number of prisoners died as part of experiments. Though she was not involved in the trickery Danielle did to a fellow former Jhiaxian Academy woman known as 'Skids', she did find it hilarious when it was later relayed to her.
  • Within two centuries of its formation, Danielle and Freya would find themselves assigned to the special forces team known as the Decepticon Justice Division. Danielle was first and she quickly became the leader known as Tarn. The second Tarn, the one everyone thinks of, leading Freya to be inducted as well, under the codename Vos.
  • At some point during the War, they literally stumbled across a worker's pit containing a clutch of about twenty-eight eggs. Officially, only Fulcrum hatched, whom they then raised as a Ward for ten years before he was sent off to be part of the Decepticon War Machine.
  • Freya was the one who discovered the Kaon with them at the time was an Autobot spy known as Dominus Ambus. The mole was subjected to a horrific perversion known as Domestication (think turning into an animal). The cyberbrain, after massive Shadowplay (AKA rewriting a personality), alongside the spark (soul), was transferred into a turbofox, something that matched the bracelet's HSI. The body was then literally tossed into the freezer and forgotten about. Known as the Pet, it was given to the incoming Kaon as a welcome gift. It's since been used as propaganda ('tamed sparkeater').
  • At some point in the very long war, Vos underwent martial arts training.
  • She's responsible, with Kaon's help, for trying to figure out how to how to make more of an addictive form of energon called Nuke. So far, no luck (because literal timetravel shenanigans.)
  • Fulcrum eventually ended up on the DJD's (kill) List due to cowardice. Long story short, they think he's dead, but he's not.
  • During the fiasco with alian organics on Ofsted XVII, she was damaged enough to be trapped within her armour -her faction symbol blasted clean off. About fourish weeks later Autobots found her and Kaon, both in a sort of emergency functionality known as 'stasis', but very much dying by increments.
  • She choked 'Trailbreaker' as thanks for the emergency transfusions and threw him into the pile where Kaon was trapped. One panic bubble later, the rest of the Autobots having left to get reinforcements while thinking it was only Vos, Trailbreaker was rather brutally murdered by Kaon, and then some shocked Autobots returned with reinforcements. Kaon and Vos then teleported onto the Peaceful Tyranny for some much needed time in the Repair tanks.
  • Vos was there with Nickel trying to reach Tarn when she freaking tried to commit suicide via immersion in a Nuke tank after Megatron's defection. They managed to literally fish her out, thankfully.

Personality wise? Vos -Freya- is not a nice woman. She's somewhat cynical in general, though it depends wholly on her view of the situation at hand.

She is a linguistic purist, a scientist with questionable morality at best, fanatically loyal to the Decepticon Cause, a professional sadist, torturer, mass murder, and sniper by 'birth'.

What she is not is mass-produced and she is damn proud of that fact. She is a member of the Decepticon Justice Division, a group who hunts down Decepticon traitors and 'shows them the error of their ways' via horrific and brutal torture culminating in the target's rather messy death. This means it can be said she does not feel guilt over her actions, whatever they be. Some would go so far as to say she is a socio/psychopath who'd kill given half a chance. Yet, it's her job (her function even) to do what she does. A job that comes with some perks, but a job all the same. So no, she won't be killing anyone without orders or a damned good reason like 'mercy-kill'.

That she happens to be good at it goes without saying. That she tends to get a kick out of it... not so much. But she has never directly killed without orders from a superior and she is very proud of that little-known fact.

Yet, she's actively egged various teammates on at times when she doesn't -or can't- join in the 'fun'. At the same time, killing people is a job to her; one she isn't shy talking about. She kills people for a living. There's no getting around that. That said, it's rather interesting to note that one of her main methods of torture, though certainly not the only one but arguably the most enjoyable to her, is to detach the facemask of her armour and force victims to wear it in a rather visceral 'counterpoint' to empurata's horrific disfigurement of face and hands. However, Vos is also not above getting into a good old brawl or acting as sniper/sniper support, though she does get annoyed at people forgetting she is more than her gun.

She can and will physically remind people of this. Even Tarn, for all the complicated love Vos holds for her, is not immune, and it should go without saying this translates to the rest of the DJD.

When it comes to the languages she speaks, Vos is very much a stick in the mud, heavily preferring to speak only Primal Vernacular, not Neo-Cybex. She does understand it and can speak it though. She simply chooses not to speak it as much as possible. However, given she writes her reports in Neo-Cybex -and submits them promptly-, she's not above writing in other languages, and through this, she knows several extinct languages of Cybertron.

Vos is an incredibly intelligent, observant woman who is willing to use or exploit others, be it for short-term gains, or longer ones, if they can be of some use. For example, she was the one who suggested using Rewind to film the atrocious ties they committed on the Alternate Lost Light, even going so far as to force him to watch the death of his husband, taking no small amount of delight in what happened. That said, Vos is willing to adhere to any deal -provided the deal is adhered to in the first place.

She's able to generally predict what her teammates would like/do to some degree of accuracy, such as pointing out that Tarn would not appreciate them jumping in when it came to the fight with Deathsaurus, or telling the group that it's better to let Helex do what she wishes with the brain of their victims. That said, when it comes to Tarn, Vos is not afraid to tell it like it is. For all Tarn is her commanding officer, she is also her Best Friend Forever and occasional fuck buddy. It's a fine line, but one they walk with skill.

But Vos did not sign up for Tarn's brand of paperwork, and despite time's passage, still finds it annoying. Yet in the end, as much as she hates the work, Vos will do it, pointedly returning it within the day. It doesn't mean she wouldn't be nervous when it comes to reviews though. As much as they are friends, Danielle is her Commanding Officer. One that takes the role seriously.

Vos agrees wholeheartedly with the Decepticon ideology, not simply because the joining them gave her an outlet and a chance to inflict pain. She grew up a member of the oppressed castes and has plenty of negative feelings towards her oppressors and being used in some manner without her consent, thought of as simply a gun, or taken for granted because of her weapon. Some might claim the Cause conflicts with her belief system; yet to Vos, the Cause might as well be an extension of said system. Plus, she has, and will, execute anyone on the List who has her faith. A job is a job... and no-one ever said her beliefs prohibited killing.
