Physical Description: A thin Japanese girl with brown eyes and brown hair put up into pigtails.
About the Character:
When she was small, Rise Kujikawa was a shy child. She would mumble when she spoke and look at her feet. In an effort to end this, her parents signed her up for an idol audition without her knowledge. Somehow she managed to get the spot, and thus the idol Risette was born.
Years passed as Rise learned the trade of an idol, until hardly a trace of the shy girl she had used to be remained. She even became known as one of Japan's biggest celebrities. However, Rise eventually grew tired of the life of an idol, unable to show her true face to anyone. And so, Rise announced that she was going on an indefinite hiatus that she intended to make permanent.
She retired to the sleepy town of Inaba where her grandmother ran a tofu shop and attempted to live a normal life, but fame doesn't leave that easily. The rumors about her arrival spread, until it was all the small town had on it's mind. These thoughts on a single person manifested themselves on the mysterious Midnight Channel, which someone had been using to determine their kidnapping victims.
Before the Midnight Channel aired, however, she met a young man by the name of Yu Narukami who didn't seem to care that she was "Risette." He would prove to be the first friend she made in Inaba, among several. He eventually arrived at her grandmother's tofu shop to warn her about the kidnappings, but she felt safe enough with the police watching the shop.
That feeling of safety would, however, prove to be unjustified, as she was kidnapped and thrown into the TV World soon enough. Her buried thoughts lead to her Shadow, the manifestation of her suppressed thoughts and desires appearing.
This Shadow was sick of nobody caring about the girl under "Risette," of constantly putting on act after act. The roles she had played had grown so numerous that she had lost sight of who the "real" Rise was.
When the Investigation Team arrived to rescue her, her Shadow's twisted behavior had gotten to the point where she rejected it entirely. This created a powerful for for the Persona users, one that they couldn't defeat without interference from an ally's hidden power.
Having had some time to calm down, Rise realized that her Shadow was right and had just been running rampant because she had suppressed it for so long. She couldn't find the "real" her because they were all real, they were all born from the same Rise. Now knowing this, she accepted her Shadow and awoke to the Persona Himiko.
Himiko's navigational skills turned out to be invaluable to the Investigation Team, and Rise agreed to work with her new friends to uncover the mystery unfolding in Inaba.
Over time, Rise began to regret leaving showbiz. She realized that many people had actually looked up to "Risette," and she missed the smiles she brought to her fans. She decided to return to the stage after the mystery had been solved, and do her best. Not as "Risette," but as Rise Kujikawa, all that there is of her.
Rise and her Persona worked tirelessly to find other victims of the kidnapper, the kidnapper himself, and eventually even the one pulling his strings. This lead the Investigation Team to the full truth of the mystery in Inaba.
The next year, Rise was kidnapped yet again by the Shadow of the Anti-Shadow Suppression Unit: Labrys. Her abilities were a threat to the illusion she had weaved around the TV World, so she could only watch as her friends and the newcomers, the Shadow Operatives, were forced to battle each other.
When that incident was resolved, a new one occurred the very next day. An extra hour was shoved into midnight, and a red fog filled the streets. The fog blocked her Persona's abilities, leaving her unable to help her friends. She had nearly given in to despair at the thought of once again being able to only helplessly watch when the enigmatic Elizabeth arrived.
She rekindled Rise's resolve and decided to test her. Elizabeth struck at Rise with the Persona Thanatos, only for Himiko to deflect the blow. Thanks to the red fog, fragments of both Personas had come off with the clash, and they were absorbed by Himiko as Rise's will transformed her into a form capable of fighting.
Using this newfound power, Rise fought fakes of her friends and the Shadow Operatives until she reunited with the real deals. She lent her power to the leader of the Investigation Team to end this tournament once and for all.
However, things did not stay peaceful. After "Risette" made her comeback, people began entering vegetative states after watching a cursed video on the official website of the Love Meets Bonds festival, which Rise herself would be performing at.
After the visiting Investigation Team and the members of the idol group Kanamin Kitchen were drawn into another world, they found that violence wouldn't work against the Shadows in this place. The only thing they could do to stop them was convey their feelings to the Shadows by overwriting the mysterious song in the air with song and dance of thier own.
Rise, having the most experience with this, was made co-leader of the group. She led them to saving the members of Kanamin Kitchen, awakening the victims of the cursed video, and putting an end to a plot to make reality bend to expectations.
After that adventure, Rise actually had several peaceful years. She moved on from idolhood to become an actress and singer. The only gap in these peaceful days was when the skies turned red, water like blood fell, and the god Yaldabaoth rose, but it was defeated by the Phantom Thieves before she could do anything. With that apparently dealt with, Rise returned to normal life.

Additional information:
Rise is much more genuinely cheerful now, the smiles she gives onstage the real thing. She can be deadly serious when she needs to, however, and will stop at nothing to protect her friends.
Rise is good at understanding how people think, with a natural empathy close to that of a standard Wild Card. That, combined with her strength of will, make her a very powerful Persona user.
