Personality - In most ways, Kana is a kind individual, but much of what she knows is learned. She's not easy to anger, and she doesn't lie...at least not overtly. She can and does lie by omission, if need be, and it's worryingly not hard to do for her. And when it comes to strong emotions, it can be very difficult for Kana to feel them, many times. As she's not human, many of her her emotions are dulled, at best. Many things just don't shock her or even really phase her much. Alternate universe? Of course. Giant rock monsters? Oh, it's Tuesday.

Of course, if something happens to elicit a strong emotional reaction from Kana, she will definitely feel it - for example, when she is reminded of her betrayal. Or when something truly happy happens like the end of the Mall's games, or when someone tells her there's no such thing as hope, she will argue about it. Or feel embarrassed when she realizes how similar she sounds at times to certain other furry characters from her universe - emotionless, or utilitarian in her outlook for the greater good of everyone. And then many times, she is acting as she thinks she is supposed to based on her creation, and without that guidance her emotional state when faced with bad things is to simply sigh, lament, shrug, and if it can't be helped, do her best to remember them (as she always does remember them, for she will always remember them), to move on, as there are more important things to work on.

Still, she does have a sense of right and wrong, and when it comes down to it, she will always strive to do the right thing, and keep promises she makes, even if it's difficult to do. Even if it hurts to do it. Because she of all people knows it hurts to do the right thing in the end, amidst causing and seeing so much suffering.

History - Kana ended up as the Conductor of the Mall some time around a year and a half after the Mall games first started (based on her revealing she'd been at the Mall for roughly a year and a half). It's unknown if she replaced someone, or if she was the only Conductor the game had ended up with. In any case, she was the last member of the Mall's Game hierarchy to join (after Yotsuyu, the Composer, who devised the Mall's Reaper's Game from the very start; Seven, the Producer, first executed in Round 2; and Japhet, the Game Master, first executed in Round 5). Most likely she was installed between Rounds 7 and 9. So she, at the latest, started as Conductor for Ryoga Hibiki's round, and outside of her Conductor duties, she generally made Yotsuyu's drinks, ran most of her errands, and had shoes thrown at her when Yotsuyu got angry for whatever reason. She was also instrumental in the creation of Nyaf-ya, aka Hateorbs, aka Nephilix, the Mall's executor, who also wants to be a cute cat-loving girl - primarily due to a piece of Kana's soul being used to power her.

She thus got to experience later notable rounds, such as Round 10 (which ended up last all of one week) and, of course, Round 13. Round 13 was an overall terrible round for everyone, but it also marked an important turning point of sorts for all of the Mall's higher-ups. It was...bad. Very bad. One of the Players, Frollo, ultimately doomed everyone to a total party kill by accusing Eleanor Shellstrop of being a witch. The results of what happened - marked with Frollo's personality and Shellstrop's attempts to stop from being wrongly executed - caused even the Composer to be absolutely horrified by the proceedings, as it reminded her of her own past.

As a result, Kana - who had already been using her position to try and aleviate the Players' situations on her own - Seven, and Japhet began to look for ways to end the Game in some manner with more urgency, and discussed Yotsuyu's changes throughout the rounds. She was incredibly cruel, it was true, but it was clear that she wasn't unaffected by things, and that for a very long time, she'd had no one to truly support her and change her destiny. Seven and Kana had already, in their own ways, taken it on themselves to at least do nice things for her, even if she wasn't always thankful or even nice. Kana believed that the Composer could also change for the better, and that she wasn't a lost cause as Yotsuyu herself thought she was.

Round 14 was also an interesting round, but it was Round 15 that ultimately ended the Mall's Game. Once it became clear this particular group of people were going to fight all the way to freedom, Seven began to subtly add things to the Mall within the Strangerground, so that the Players could start to piece together the story for themselves. Kana herself was contacted several times by the Players, living and dead, and she gave the Players a few things as well, notably giving Croix the hope and incentive to reject her status as the Fabricator and side with the survivors' pool. The Players then confronted Yotsuyu directly, and though thry didn't beat her in the fight she used to test them, it didn't matter. Winning hadn't been the point of the test, but rather, she wanted to test their resolve in ending the Game and seeking Sho Minamimoto out to stop him.

As they had passed, the Mall's Game was dissolved, and those who wanted to return to life or just go home were allowed to. Those who were dead and wished to remain so became Composers, and they could move to and from their worlds as they pleased. As for Kana, she approached Yotsuyu and managed to befriend her at last, allowing Yotsuyu the chance to redeem herself on her own terms as they all set off into the multiverse in Seven's sweet-ass car.

Soul-Splitting - Essentially, the Law of Cycles's soul is comprised of countless souls of magical girls from her universe's space-time and its various possibilities. It was capable of splitting off entire hordes of magical girls, their witches, and their witch's wraiths along with their powers, and they could also use the Law's full power since they were, essentially, a connected piece of the Law. However, since Madoka has been cut off from the Law by Homura's actions, the full power of this ability has been sealed, and the girls still apart of Kana are essentially rendered inert in terms of their own powers and abilities. Nor can she simply summon a piece and create a creature/familiar right out of thin air, as that ability was also sealed.

That said, Kana can still split pieces of her soul off (or, if you will, pieces of these girls' souls off), and these pieces will reflect the Law's will, personality, etc. She can still infuse lifeless items with this power, and these items have a level of sentience and have a spiritual connection to Kana. They also gain a container for that piece of their soul for safe-keeping. However, regardless of their level of sentience, these piece don't otherwise have magical powers (Nephilix's power, for example, came from being a robot infused with Noise-summoning abilities, which Kana, who didn't go through the Reaper's Games to gain her power, on her own doesn't have), and they can't be compelled to act in a way that Kana wouldn't act (for example, no using it for torture). Also, if the soul container breaks, the piece of soul will automatically return to Kana.
