Character name: Aran Voliere
Character canon: Hexapath Travelers (Original Canon)
Canon point: Endgame, before battling Ulrich
Physical Description: Picture. Aran is 6'5 and 26 years old, though he looks (and acts) several years older.
About the Character: General info on the setting here, this will be more focused on Aran's personal history.

Losing his parents at a young age, Aran had no real memory of his family. All he had was the orphanage he grew up in. Though very attached to all the other children there and forming deep bonds, as well as doing his best to take care of the kids younger than him, the fact that no one seemed to have a desire to adopt him was frustrating. So imagine his surprise and delight when one of the legendary heroes, Dahlia Voliere, came down to the orphanage to pick out promising children. Alongside several other kids, Aran (now twelve) was chosen and left the orphanage.

His excitement would be short lived when Dahlia revealed she only needed one child at the end of the day... and what the selection process would be. The kids were pitted against each other and only the strongest, most resourceful of them would make it. Although clearly the church would never endorse anything terrible, Dahlia did make it clear she was looking for someone with the potential to be ruthless and follow ANY order. Needless to say, Aran made it... and the others didn't.

Although Dahlia had said that the best candidate would be adopted, she didn't immediately deliver on that promise. Even after all this, Aran still had to work and train and prove himself over and over. It was only years later that she finally delivered and formally adopted him, granting him her surname... although to call them family would be a terrible exaggeration.

But as Dahlia's personal protege, Aran, of course, ended up as a high ranking enforcer for the church. His duties were varied, but a big part of it was that when the church needed something... distasteful taken care of and didn't want to dirty their own hands, Aran would be sent to take care of it.

One such task happens to be guiding a group of young adventurers on a mission into a mine, to retrieve an artifact for the church. And, after they remove the artifact from its protections, he collapses the mines with the intent of getting rid of these... loose ends. No witnesses. Of course, the party gets away.

He's more than a little surprised that, when meeting them again, the party just expresses relief that he's okay after that mysterious mine collapse. But that works for him, and he accompanies them once more, temporarily joining them as they search for yet another artifact. When they obtain this one, he decides to be a little more direct, turning against them and just trying to kill them then and there. But they managed to defeat him, forcing him to retreat.

At some point, the church captures a young blind seer by the name of Celadon. Having business down in the dungeons sometimes, Aran ends up talking to Celadon... and sympathizing with her more than he'd like, relating to her experiences of growing up as an orphan. Eventually, this gets bad enough that he unlocks her cell and simply... walks away. He encounters the party and, realizing their goal is to rescue Celadon, Aran simply lets them go.

A direct betrayal like that isn't taken lightly, of course. Dahlia is not pleased and punishes him accordingly. So when the party next encounters him, Aran is wearing an eyepatch over his left eye.

Eventually, after realizing that the legendary heroes weren't simply taking extreme measures for a worthy goal, but outright didn't care for this world at all, Aran defected. He joined up with the party, which was awkward at first, but he settled in eventually. From that point on, he accompanied them on their quest.

Though he had once been a cheerful, expressive child, Aran's experiences with Dahlia put an end to that. Now, he is quiet, stoic. He's frowning more often than not, hardly expressing any real emotion if he can help it. You'd be forgiven for assuming he doesn't even feel any, as his outward appearance of stoically intimidating is carefully constructed. He prefers to bottle up everything, as for the longest time expressing emotion felt like a sign of weakness. While he doesn't look at it that way for others, it's hard to shake that feeling for his own emotions. Old habits die hard, as they say. Seeing Aran smile is a rare thing indeed, let alone anything more obvious than that. At least it does give him the advantage of being level headed. It's hard to shake him, let alone get him to panic, so he tends to have a clear head while making decisions even during stressful times.

If you want to see how Aran really feels about something, it's far better to look at his actions instead. He might not be kind about it, but he takes care of people who matter to him. Looking out for their safety and their needs, whether they like it or not. This is intact from his days at the orphanage, where he'd look out for the other kids, even if he was far gentler about it then. Now, it comes in the form of scolding the party for doing foolish things or angrily insisting they hydrate and eat healthier. He's the mom friend of the group and he won't take no for an answer. And despite how he's tried to close himself off, this happens quicker than he'd like. At his core, underneath all the trauma and bad coping methods, Aran is just a caring person. He might say otherwise, but he hates seeing people in pain or suffering and he especially has a soft spot for those younger than him.

Although those walls he's set up around him are still there, even if some people have gotten very good at climbing over them. Aran tends to be cynical, mostly due to his own experiences. He's seen some shit and knows exactly how awful people can be, which has left him wary and slow to trust. While he is trying to not instantly assume the worst of people anymore, it still happens. His solutions to problems also lean more towards the pragmatic. Because, listen? It's a lot quicker to just stab your problems?

Aran would probably like it if he could solve every situation this way, because there's one area where he's very lacking; social skills. He's... Listen, he's very good at his job of being a magic knight. But having a casual conversation with someone, with no set goal? That's way more difficult. When he gets used to people this slowly gets easier for him, but before he knows someone very well? He is incredibly awkward. Small talk, sincerely expressing his feelings, open and honest conversations? No thank you, Aran's good out here. And large social gatherings? Absolutely not, he'll do whatever it takes to avoid those. He's no good at being a person.

Going a little deeper, he also doesn't entirely feel as if he deserves to be one. While he worked for the church, Aran did many awful things. While at the time he felt a great amount of conviction as he did them, convinced it was just and right, he no longer has that now that he knows the true nature of the church. It weighs pretty heavily on him and he's dealing with an awful lot of guilt for all the things he did. Helping the party is not a way for him to seek redemption. Rather, Aran is of the opinion that it's impossible for that to even happen at all and is simply trying to do the right thing now for its own sake, because he might as well put his life to some use.

Suffice to say... Dahlia's upbringing did a number on him and he's definitely not recovered from the effects.

Character abilities: Aran is a magic knight, skilled at both melee combat as well as using magic. He is extremely skilled at using the sword, having trained with it for many years. His main focus is doing as much damage as possible, so he's a hard hitter. He's also durable, even without his armor, being used to taking hits. His dodging skills are... slightly more lacking, what with the blind spot he's got now, but that's just how it be.

On the magical side, though Aran has some lesser fire and lightning elemental spells, he rarely uses these as they're not his strength. His real magical talent shines in his light and ice elemental magic, which are much more dangerous. Big light energy attacks and big frost attacks, that sort of thing. High level JRPG spells, not magical nukes or anything.

Aran also has a lot of basic skills that are useful for survival, as he's mostly had to rely on himself for a long time. As well as skills such as cooking, sewing, and basically anything else necessary to be self sufficient. Ultimate mom friend.

[2/?] Iris | Pokemon Black & White (anime) | not reserved

[personal profile] heartofdragons 2018-11-02 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
IC Information

Character name: Iris
Character canon: post-series
Canon point: post-series
Physical Description: a short, ten year old girl with impressively large purple-tinted hair (sectioned into two fluffy pigtails, while the rest is pulled into a poofy and loose ponytail (which stores apples and baby Dragon Type Pokemon), with gold-coloured clips). She has round, full cheeks, big brown eyes, and typically wears pastel-coloured clothes and bows and other cute things, if she isn't wearing traditional dress (somehow gets roped into playing the role of a priestess a lot) or princessy dresses.
She has a slim, but also well-toned build (she grew up fighting wild Pokemon!).
About the Character: I have an old, very verbose app written (although using Japanese names, whoops) if you want something more detailed, but for this app, I'll keep it short!

Iris is a(n implicitly orphaned) ten year old girl from the Dragon Village, a reclusive village from the Unova region, although she spent much of her time in the surrounding forest, learning to fight from wild Pokemon, the girl being half-wild. The people of her village are quite traditional, favouring teaching by oral tradition, living off the land, and living in plank houses, but they are known for their deep connection with Dragon Type Pokemon. Even among the people of this village, Iris is of a rare bloodline who can connect with Dragon Type Pokemon in exceptional ways...

Iris puts on airs of being more mature than Ash (which isn't THAT hard, to be fair) and loves calling out others on their childish behaviour ("what a kid~" is a popular phrase of hers), but she can be just as childish and butts heads with Ash quite a bit early on for this reason. She also gets along with him very well for this reason too! They're very alike, impulsive, food-loving, brash, and have a strong sense of justice.

She's playful and likes to play pranks on her friends!

Iris can be ruthlessly blunt and typically says whatever's on her mind. She doesn't tend to spare feelings, particularly if she feels the person deserves it. She does this more to Ash before she genuinely likes him, but once she cares about him, it's just gentle and friendly teasing. She grew to care about him very quickly, but remained somewhat aloof for some time, dodging questions about her goals and disappearing on her own before she regularly travelled with the group.

However, she's also a very kind and nurturing character to whoever needs it, particularly to Pokemon. She's very motherly to Axew and any baby Pokemon who finds itself in her care, and she's careful and patient with troubled and frightened Pokemon, never rushing them (early on, she did have trouble keeping out of Pokemon's personal space, if she found them cute enough to tease, but she learned pretty quickly!).

Iris herself has an intense aversion to the cold. She'll be comically overdressed for even a slight chill, her hair turns super frizzy on exposure to a cold breeze, and she tends to duck behind Cilan to get away from Ice Type Pokemon (... even when he's carrying them ^^;;;). She claims the weakness is due to her connection with Dragon Type Pokemon, saying her village elder also has trouble with cold (... but she's an old woman, so...), but Ash's rival Trip doubts the logic behind it, saying she ought to be afraid of Dragon Types too, if it was just about what Types Dragons are weak to.

He offers to help her overcome her phobia, but she declines.

Iris adores cute Pokemon! She doesn't care THAT much about fashion or styling hair, but she likes wearing cute clothes. Judging by her game counterpart's Champion dress and her roles in Luke's movies, aside from pastel colours, a common theme is princesses and tennyo/heavenly maidens.

Ironically, considering the source of her powers, Iris had a lot of trouble opening up to people, owing to her difficult past, and takes time to trust, but she's a fiercely loyal friend and will stand up for anyone who's been wronged.

She's quick to anger and can have an explosive temper, moreso if the target of it harmed or endangered her friends or someone vulnerable (like a partner Pokemon!) in any way. She HATES abusive trainers.

Before even leaving her village, Iris became a strong battler, practicing with an Excadrill she had tamed after a few scuffles with him, but when she failed to recognize her partner's limits and forced him to keep battling Drayden when they were clearly outmatched, he lost confidence in her and stopped battling for her.

Knowing this, the Old Matriarch, the village elder and closest thing Iris has to family in the village, sent her away to an academy in the city, hoping the opportunity will help her hone her skills. Unfortunately, being too wild for the prim upperclass students and having difficulty adjusting to city life was too difficult for Iris and she was heavily ostracized and isolated, to the point she even stopped eating.

This turned Iris from carefree and cheerful to someone secretive and mistrustful. Given that her unique powers relied on empathy, the academy was stifling her potential, rather than helping her reach it.

Having had enough of the academy, she chose to run away, taking her mistrusftul Excadrill and the Axew who had imprinted on her in the village [and was to be the Dragon Type she was tasked with raising on her own future journey], and was very reluctant to return to her village, believing she had disappointed the elder and also Drayden, the Opelucid Gym Leader and principal of the academy.

(In reality, the Old Matriarch and Drayden both saw that a journey was better suited for Iris' development than the academy, but they kept this secret, as she had to find her own path.)

When Iris met Ash and later Cilan, she was initially still secretive and put up a strong front, mocking Ash quite viciously, before showing that she sincerely cared for him, and her mockery of his childishness and impulsiveness became fond and friendly. She would even apologize to Cilan when her teasing got him too upset.

She began to change into a more empathetic person and, eventually, learned that Excadrill's "disobedience" was due to his lack of trust for her after she blamed him for their loss. She apologized and even told him he would never have to battle again, if only he would play with and run in the fields with her like they used to... this earned his trust again.

She also gets a lazy, selfish, manipulative, apple-obsessed Emolga who likes to charm her way out of anything remotely resembling work, who also undergoes growth of her own to become someone who genuinely cares about her fellow team mates and not just filling her belly. (... the awful first impression remains for Ash's Snivy, though, so Emolga butts heads with her a LOT.)

Axew also grew from being too weak to battle to becoming quite strong under her care and as she continued to become more open to others, even bonding with a Dragon Type she believed to have been abandoned and teaching it to trust again, as well as calming a Hydreigon who turned violent following evolution (comforting it and calming it down, while it bit her and thrashed around!), her powers finally manifested when she met an angry Dragonite who had been falsely accused of a crime—she proved his innocence after receiving his memories of what really happened and was fortunately able to find a security camera recording that matched.

Iris frequently clashes with a girl named Georgia who was dedicated to defeating Dragon Type specialists, calling herself a Dragon Buster, for admittedly childish reasons (she lost once pretty badly to a Dragon Type specialist and holds a grudge, but as Georgia fully acknowledges she's a childish child—and what's wrong with that—Iris' usual barb has no effect on her)... but over time, especially after an incident where Iris was forced to work together with one of Georgia's Pokemon, Georgia was impressed by their teamwork and praised her.

When Iris finally returns to her village, she apologizes to Drayden for running away, and he gruffly acknowledges her growth. She also earns a rematch against Drayden, who she lost to with Excadrill long ago (that same battle that caused the rift between them)... this time, Iris and her Excadrill successfully beat one of Drayden's Pokemon.

Although she put up a great effort and displayed how much more in tune she is with her Pokemon's feelings, she still lost the overall match to the Dragon Master. However, he was so impressed with her, that Iris received the news that he intended for her to succeed him as Gym Leader of the Opelucid Gym!

She needed more time to think about it and opts to continue travelling with Ash a little longer before he goes back to Kanto and they pass through the Decolore islands, where she meets Gym Leader Clair, and decides to train under her in Johto. While she's there, she saves another misunderstood Dragon Type Pokemon who was causing trouble in a city, using her powers again to connect with it, and earns the newest member of her team!

Character abilities: Iris is a Dragon empath! She has empathetic powers that allow her, should she be open to understanding and sincerely forming a connection with a Dragon Type Pokemon, she can receive their memories and feelings for an instant, particularly if she can also make physical contact with them. This power is still developing and she can't always make it work—it needs clarity of mind and a sincere desire to understand.

She claims to have a sixth sense for things like direction, but it's often dead-wrong. She's much better at predicting weather.

Iris is also highly athletic and agile, easily dodging danger and finding her footing even after suddenly hopping onto a very narrow foothold. Iris is quite strong and, having grown up half-feral and taught how to fish and fight by wild Pokemon, she's stronger than one might expect! (Her strength, however, is not otherworldly and she would still be fairly easily overpowered by a non-superpowered, but strong adult).

Iris is skilled at making herbal remedies, often carrying a pestle and mortar to crush herbs. Iris is also good at foraging for fruits and berries to eat.

For each of her specific Pokemon partners' abilities...

Axew is capable of a well-controlled and a truly devastating Dragon Rage attack that forms the glowing-blue aura of a dragon's head which shoots out and causes damage to opponents. His Scratch ability is also very useful, as Iris has used it to free herself, Cilan, and Professor Juniper from metal clasps that were used to bind them by Team Plasma. Outrage causes Axew's eyes to glow red and he will attack nearly-endlessly with his claws, but upon wearing himself out, his eyes will remain in that state for some time and he won't be aware of anything. It causes confusion to Axew himself and leaves him vulnerable. Giga Impact allows him to launch himself at his opponent with great force, aided by extra energy that makes the impact much, much stronger.

Like Axew, Emolga's moveset is mixed. She has one thing she does VERY well and a bunch of others she's so-so about, and then some other things she's really good at but just can't be bothered to put effort into them all the time. She's attractive and she knows it! Her Attract is irresistable to male Pokemon. She's also so charming and cute, she wins over humans rather easily too (as long as they're not paying enough attention to realize her intentions!).

She is so exceptionally lazy that Volt Switch (zap the opponent, go back in your pokeball and send someone else out) is something she likes to use, not as a last resort, but simply because she wants to throw battles onto other Pokemon. xD;;;;

She's an elegant flier (er, glider?) and has Static as an innate ability. What this means is if she doesn't like you? You touch her and there's a chance you could end up momentarily paralyzed. It's a very slim chance, but it could happen!

She is capable of using Discharge (she becomes covered in electricity and will fire off bolts at her opponent, giving them a good shock) and Hidden Power (she'll fire off balls of glowing green energy at her opponent... strong attack, but it also requires time to build up before using, leaving an opening if the opponent is fast).

Dragonite is a powerhouse. Tough as nails. He can fly, punch with electricity (ThunderPunch), breathe fire (Flamethrower), breathe ice (Ice Beam), become enveloped in blue energy forming a giant dragon's silhouette and slam into opponents (Dragon Rush), and generally beat stuff up with brute strength.

Iris' Excadrill can Dig, do Drill Run (brings his claws up to make a drill-like shape and spin rapidly while curled in, making a lot of damage while sustaining little himself, Metal Claw (claws glow, turn metallic, and do extra damage when he slashes at things), and finally Focus Blast (concentrate energy into a ball to fling at its opponent).

Iris has a new baby Dragon Type in Gible. He has no sense of direction, tends to freak out, and bite everything.

Inventory: pestle and mortar, three apples, pokeballs, a pink backpack.

IC Information

Character name: Yoosung Kim
Character canon: Mystic Messenger
Canon point: Yoosung Route, Bad Story Ending 3 (canon) + After creating the new city and everything in the rebooted version of the simulation (Lockdown CRAU.)
Physical Description: Yoosung is a young man of 20 years of international age (though he's legally 21 in Korea.) He has bleached blonde hair that sticks out all over the place and is tied off to the side with a barrette. He has wide eyes that are pinkish-purple. His height is 168 centimeters (about 5'6) and his weight is 68 kg (149 lbs.) He is not very physically fit as he loathes exercise, but pretty average. He has a huge number of scars on his body, which he tends to cover by dressing conservatively with long sleeves. He'll be appearing in Phanrift wearing the glasses and modified school uniform in his inventory, but otherwise the clothes he prefers tend to be more casual such as hoodies.

About the Character:

First, let me link his Lockdown app for you to peruse, as it will have more straight-from-canon personality details than I think I'm going to be able to fit in with all the game history I'm going to have to cover. With that said, here goes.

Yoosung woke up on a desk in Fayflower with his worries reset to the petty ones of his college days (for example, he immediately started crying over being kidnapped ... to a place with no internet.) In an alleged test of each of their heroism, the Prospects were made to suffer their worst memories being played in their heads nonstop. He was very worried about what would happen if his roommate's obvious repression stopped being effective, though, so he avoided sleeping in his room.... or at all. Vivi had supplied him with enough laptops for everyone to play LOLOL with, so he spent that week doing nothing but playing the game and trying to distract himself. Yoosung confessed his fears to Mishima with frank pessimism that someone would snap. Mishima was a kindred spirit - he never once thought he would be talking to that someone.

But Jake Peralta did, and he was right - on request of his willing victim, Sherlock Holmes. Yoosung was beside himself as Mishima started to demand that others scapegoat for his sake, as the hero who did it to help them. When he pressed him in his disbelief, Mishima brought up Yoosung's suffering in his defense of why he did it, and this shook him to his core. Rather than get angry at his trust being perverted like that, he just felt like a failure for burdening his junior, a useless adult. It was a guilt he would carry with him for months, but in that moment, he could only press on to talk Mishima down so they could all figure something out. He believed he was tricked, but once he learned the extent that Sherlock planned the murder, he started to truly think of him as the "culprit" of an assisted suicide. With his feelings on Rika's suicide nourishing his seeds of resentment toward Holmes, and on the other side, the light of hope that they could all rescue his mislead friend, he began to push strongly for the group to vote for Holmes as the true culprit. This hope built up as everyone stood behind the plan, including Henry - whom he was sure would want to see a bloody execution. But then it crashed, as Vivienne refused to add him to the suspect list and insisted on trying to save him her way, sacrificing herself, saying it was the only way that the others would not get hurt instead. Desperate once again not to lose anyone else, Yoosung refused to accept this, willing to die trying as he felt he had no future.

It was Mishima who talked him down, reminded him he had other things to live for, and convinced him to vote. Vivienne then scrambled the votes herself, causing herself to get punished, and then after a brief fight with the robots as they tried to protect him, Mishima was executed anyway. To an average Joe like Yoosung, this was the cruelest thing he had ever seen in his life. The subsequent twee pizza party waiting for them looked like the pit of hell. The rest of the Entrance Exam was a blur of even more random and cruel executions, solidifying Yoosung's hatred of Vivenne's Boss, Oswald Hale, until eventually it all just stopped and he was shuttled off to stay in a place called the Magenta House for a summer vacation with just a handful of the survivors. Yoosung could never help but cling to his grief, though, and this time was no exception. He was determined to never let it go.

By the time the real "semester" began, two months had passed and they had all become very familiar with each other. It was pretty uneventful, though, and not exactly great for him. He fell back on his old habits, if it were possible, even harder than before. Such that he actually managed to sleep through it when Oswald put everyone on the bus back to school, and he had to be escorted there several days later. He found himself in the awkward position of most people who didn't already know him thinking of him as "the new kid." The guilt he'd internalized from failing Mishima compelled him to try and focus on taking care of others instead of burdening them, and to find clues and be useful, but as he never found any way to either of those things, he mostly was sensitive and depressed. He enjoyed the company of his established friends, talked to Henry and Terra about love, stayed determined in the meetings and proliferated the information from his past experiences in Fayflower. He also tried to get to know his hall neighbor Viral and assist him in his attempts to explore the school.

Regardless, for the most part he made no friends among the new students - his other neighbor, Grantaire, directly contrasted the two of them in terms of innate ability which made Yoosung sulk and try to ignore him. He took an even bigger blow to his confidence when he met Mitarai in the supply room and had his attempts at helpful advice directly shot down and dismissed as pointless meddling. He wound up staying up late by himself, as did Grantaire, who caught him on his way back inside his room and strangled him - though Yoosung struggled as hard as he could, but in the end died knowing nothing about his killer.

It would be bad enough waking up in the "afterlife" with all of his regrets, resolutions to become stronger so completely unfulfilled as to have never even truly begun. But his memories came back next, leaving him a mess of confusion and tears. It was too difficult for him to reconcile the fresh memories from him being so thoroughly broken he'd rather starve to death, with his recycled past self that had struggled so hard for his life and the life of his friends, two extremes to waver between. When Mishima actually showed up before him, it tipped the scale. Catching up with him was an emotional roller-coaster of guilt and regret, and he even confided what he had remembered. They were able to bring each other comfort and even purpose, deciding to form an actual "organization" dedicated to being a safe space for victims.

Inspired by both the Phantom Thieves and Yoosung's do-gooder LOLOL guild, they combined the two concepts into the "Phantom Guild" and made it their project. Now that they had something to be dedicated to, they were able to hold their heads high. They were sort of all-talk though, so it was both fortunate and unfortunate that no one ever really died who needed them. Even so, they were still able to get some stuff done, like turning The Enemy's office into a cool hangout where they could throw darts at the Administration's faces, uncovering more of the friendly AI to investigate in the future, and throwing birthday parties.

There was a bit of a shift in Yoosung's character toward the middle-end of their time in the simulation. When Connor was killed, he brought with him information that their afterlife was really a computer simulation. This news caused Yoosung to have a minor mental breakdown, as some of his craziest fits of paranoia from suspecting V involved the thought that he and everyone else in the RFA had been turned into programmed robots by V and Seven, coupled with the mind-bending nature of the motives in the killing exams leading him to wonder if everyone in Fayflower was being programmed similarly to his delusions. Even his new initiative to make meals for everyone the way the cafeteria did when they were alive seemed like a joke in the light of this new information, and he persisted as a last act of affirmation of his human existence. But since nothing could change what he had now become, he forced himself to accept being AI as well, move forward, and after attending Connor's introduction classes for adjusting to AI life, embrace it.

As a result, he now has a complicated relationship with his own concept of humanity, that made him willing to forsake even more of it if it was for the sake of helping others as a Guild Leader. He eventually took up an unsettling offer the AI overseer, Eve, had proposed to the group - to directly implant their minds with knowledge. Because he was now an AI, Yoosung was insecure about his lack of knowledge when it came to computer science and the field of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, Connor had put ideas in his head about editing the codes that made up their existences. Yoosung wanted to know more about how they could do this, basically thinking like a real gamer aiming to max out his stats, so he asked Eve to give him the knowledge required for this - while she didn't accept that offer, she would allow him to see and understand everyone's codes.

He would still have plenty of human problems the week when they discovered their AI nature.
(To be honest, the rest of this history/personality is going to be about relationships, because not much else was happening in the graveyard.) It turned out his actions in the first few weeks of the semester had more impact than he realized, on Mitarai, who wanted to make amends with him for how he'd treated him despite being there because of committing murder. That became a new complicated relationship for him to manage, and meanwhile he and Mishima were getting even closer. After celebrating Chuseok with the traditional baekseju brought out more of their latent attraction to each other. A week later, Yoosung had the glasses from Eve, which made him far more omniscient than he ever expected - all it ultimately did for Yoosung was make him realize he couldn't wait any longer to talk about his feelings for Mishima, and as soon as he found him, he asked if he would have him, they took turns confessing, and became an official couple.

Shortly after, connections were opened with the living, and from that point on Yoosung mainly showed off his capabilities of appearing to have a leadership role on the internet, well honed from his years of playing a tank in MMO parties. After Mishima sent out a Phantom Thieves-inspired calling card with their own shield symbol and green colors, he conveyed information with the label of the Phantom Guild, finally looking important enough to gain the attention of several living collaborators and never mentioning to them that the guild only ever managed to get four members. From them, he learned the state of things on the living side and conveyed their own position within the simulation, as well as offering support in their upcoming investigation of the spy within their ranks, the Teacher's Assistant. This communication also allowed the dead to share in the chaos when Akira appeared to die in a bus explosion, casting suspicion on his entire role. As he was a friend to both leaders of the guild, this became another battle with depression in which Yoosung put his all into licking his partner's wounds, and met Mitarai's attempts to lighten his load by cooking for everyone in his stead with mixed feelings. When before he could barely function on his own, now Yoosung is motivated by Mishima's love the way he was by his former beloved, and has instead developed a bad habit of trying to burn himself out on his own.

They would never see how that played out though, because that same day, the simulation exploded, leaving to escape into a grey void that they would then have to recreate a world in. With the status quo suddenly thrown out the window, there was nothing else they could do but hang out in their city of fantasy treehouses and hope a plan would emerge.

Character abilities: Straight from canon he's a total normie, so his skills are all pretty mundane - it's pretty much just cooking, gaming, and whatever random hidden talents he's picked up from here and there like latte art or cross stitching.

During Lockdown, he also picked up many abilities related to being an AI within the simulation. Because I was told character's bodies in Phanrift work based on their mental image and expectations, I would like to extrapolate this to assume that it means multiple characters who ID as AI would hypothetically be able to use them among themselves, and therefore I will list them out here.

* Data Transfer: The ability to send and receive information from another AI by touching them. This can be concepts, emotions, and memories.

* Code Analysis: His mind was augmented with all knowledge necessary to understand the highly complex codes used in the Fayflower simulation, particularly those of the AI versions of the dead. This can be extrapolated into an expert understanding of computer codes in general. This also includes the ability to process them instantly rather than reading them at his normal human rate so he can mentally keep up with the immense amount of information given to him through code perception.

* Code Perception: Using a pair of special glasses (that are locked to him), Yoosung can "see" a display of AI codes for those who possess them. This would normally give him data on their entire makeup as a person, so analyzing personality as well as physical, mental and emotional states are all technically possible. For example, scanning the physical would give him an accurate mental picture of anything from heart rate and brain waves to what their skeleton or organs look like. Mental/emotional would basically be like receiving data transfer but indirectly (so I would be willing to nerf that away so that touching is the only kind that works, if these abilities are all deemed legitimate. Yoosung really got way more power from Eve than he bargained for, so he tries his best not to be invasive regardless. This aversion could be the explanation for why it doesn't carry over, but if it's cool carrying over then yanno lol. I doubt it'd work on anyone other than Lockdown Dead since that's the specific code that he learned.)

Inventory:

- The aforementioned special glasses. They're red and fashionable!
- The custom Phantom Guild School Uniform he and Mishima made by palette swapping the clothes available after "AI 102", including a green and gold-trimmed version of the Fayflower male's blazer, a gold version of Mishima's Shujin Academy pants, and a yellow bow tie.
- Fitbit and tablet everyone woke up with in Lockdown Main Game. The fitbit monitors physical data and also contains whatever feature that allowed Vivi to download everyone into the simulation. As laid out in the link, the tablet has the rules, profiles, maps/gps, music, word processor, cookie clicker, photos and camera.
